OCIA - Order of Christian Initiation of Adults
What is OCIA?
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process by which adults are welcomed into full communion with the Catholic Church. It is intended for those who are unbaptized, baptized in another Christian tradition, or baptized Catholic but have not received the sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation.
OCIA is a journey of faith that involves prayer, reflection, catechesis (instruction in the faith), and participation in the liturgical life of the Church. Through this process, individuals come to know Jesus Christ more deeply and discern their call to become part of the Catholic community.
Meetings are held regularly and are led by a dedicated team of parishioners and clergy who walk with participants each step of the way. The process culminates at the Easter Vigil, when those who are ready receive the Sacraments of Initiation.
If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about the Catholic faith or beginning the OCIA journey, we warmly invite you to contact the parish office.
